TALBOT, Richard, (d.), was b. Co. Kerry, Ire., 1802. He first came to the U.S. and set. in Maine, where he m. Johana Didgen. They came to Canada in the early fifties, and purchased and set. on lot 23, con. 5, Eramosa, and eventually he became the owner of 300 acres. With the exception of being School Trustee for some years, he never held office. He received a fair education in Ireland, and kept himself well posted on current affairs. He was a member of the Church of England, and in politics adhered to the Conservative party. He was a man of strong convictions, very energetic and successful in life. He d. in 1880, age 78 years. Issue: James, Mrs. Donald Gillies, Annie (d. unm.), Thomas and Richard.
James m. Sarah Murphy, owned lot 30, con. 7.
Thomas m. Annie Gahan, owns 150 acres lot 17, con. 4, Eramosa. No Issue. He is one of the substantial farmers of the section. Mr. Talbot and also his family are members of the Roman Catholic church, and in politics he is a Conservative.
Richard m. Priscilla Campbell, and owned a farm, lot 22, con. 6, in Eramosa. He d. in 1899, age 43 years, leaving his widow and the following issue: Reuben R., Annie T., and William D. C. They are members of the Roman Catholic church.
