    Notes 
    • The family resided in Berlin (now Kitchener), Ontario where Mathias was employed as a carpenter. They attended St. Peter's Lutheran Church. The census of 1861 shows this couple residing in Berlin, Ontario in a 1 1/2 storey frame house along with the family of Henry Wurm and Elizabeth Steinacker.

      Mathias died on Sept 4, 1896. His wife predeceased him on May 12, 1880 following an illness of one week. Following the death of his wife, Mathias lived with his son, Conrad.

    Daniel Wurm was born on 29 May 1839 in Bleidenrod, son of Basilius Wurm and Elisabetha Neeb. In a side note it is also mentioned that Basilius and Elizabeth later got married in Ehringshausen on 22 Nov 1840. Daniel is noted to be the 3rd child and 2nd son of Basilius and Elisabetha. Godfather was Daniel Wurm, Basilius' brother.

    • On 21 Oct 1867, almost two months after Daniel's death, the United States government signed a peace treaty with the Comanche and Kiowa tribes of Plains Indians, as part of the larger Medicine Lodge Treaty, reserving lands for the signators in the Indian Territories - present day Oklahoma.
