    ?OBITUARIES - LAVINA E STERNER

    Mrs Lavina E Sterner, 79, of 46550 West 11 Mile road, Novi, died Sunday, February 23 at St Mary Hospital in Livonia. She had been ill for the past six months.

    Born March 9, 1885 in Ubley, Michigan, she was the daughter of Daniel and Maria (Peter) Wurm. Her husband, Fred E Sterner, survives her.

    Among other affiliations, Mrs Sterner was a member of St Paul's Lutheran Church of Northville, the Lutheran Ladies Auxiliary, Branch No. 2 of Detroit, was Sunday School librarian at St Paul's, and was a member of the Ladies Aid Society of St Paul's. Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs Ethel Leighton of Port Clinton, Ohio; four sons, Wilfred of Novi, [...] of Bloomfield Hills, [...] of Northville and [...] of Chicago Heights.; a brother, William Wurm of Detroit,; and five grandchildren, [...].

    Funeral services will be held today (Thursday, February 27) at St Paul's Lutheran Church beginning at 2 pm, with the Rev. BJ Pankow, pastor of St Paul's officiating.

    Visitation will continue until today at 11 am at Casterline Funeral Home. Burial will be in Forest Lawn cemetery in Detroit.

    Lavinia married Fred William Sterner on 28 Mar 1911 in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan. Fred (son of Julius Sterner and Louise Schneider) was born on 26 Aug 1886 in Imlay City, Lapeer County, Michigan; died on 4 May 1982 in Livonia, Michigan. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
