    Elizabeth Eby, "the eldest of Moses Eby's family, was born January 17th, 1824. She was married, April 11th, 1844, to Jacob Bergey who was born September 1st, 1818.

Jacob (son of Joseph Bergey and Elizabeth Wagner) was born on 1 Sep 1818 in Pennsylvania; died on 29 Feb 1904 in Wilmot Township, Waterloo County, Ontario; was buried in Mannheim Latschaw Mennonite Cemetery, Wilmot Township, Waterloo County, Ontario.     Samuel Eby, "(known as "Indian Sam") the second son of George Eby, was born February 20th, 1772, and died February 10th, 1840. He was married to Magdalena Erb who was born February 2nd, 1777, and died December 26th, 1864. In company with his brother, George, and a few others he left Pennsylvania in the spring of 1804 and moved to Canada. He took up north-west part of lot No. 1, German Company's Tract, in the township and county of Waterloo, Ontario. At that time there were but few white settlers in this beautiful county and the Indians were his next neighbors. He spent much of his time among the Indians and taught them many good things, in fact he was their law-giver, minister, interpreter and peace-maker. He had a family of one son.

    Samuel married Magdalena Erb. Magdalena was born on 2 Feb 1777; died on 26 Dec 1864. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    "The Pannebeckers (To have a complete history of the Pannebecker family, write to Mr. Samuel W. Pennypacker, Philadelphia, Pa., and get the book, "Historical and Biographical Sketches of the Pannebeckers", edited by Pennybecker. It is well worth the money and one of the most complete works of its kind in existence) were of the first settlers of German origin who settled in Pennsylvania over two hundred years ago. We find them to have been a prominent family in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania as early as 1709."

    Cornelius Pannebecker, "a native of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, was born December 8th, 1770. In April, 1792, he was married to Anna Dettweiler, sister to old Rudolph Dettweiler who resided near the Wanner Meeting House at Hespeler. She was born November 16th, 1775, and died October 27th, 1855. In 1810 they, in company with Christian Shantz and family, Jacob Shantz and wife, and others, moved to Canada and settled in Waterloo County, Ontario, near the present village of Hespeler, on the farm now occupied by Peter Wier. Here they resided until their deaths. He died June 22nd, 1855. To then was born a family of thirteen children.

    Cornelius married Anna Dettweiler in Apr 1792. Anna was born on 16 Nov 1775; died on 27 Oct 1855 in Waterloo County, Ontario. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    George Eby, "the fifth son of Christian Eby and his wife, Elizabeth Mayer, was born December 11th, 1748, and died June 10th, 1800. He was married, September 17th, 1769, to Barbara Sensenig who was born in January, 1750, and died April 24th, 1787. They resided in Lancaster County, near Lititz, where they had a family of nine children, namely: Christian, Samuel, David, George, Joseph, Esther, Anna, Elizabeth, and Susannah. None of this family settled in Canada save Samuel and George.

    George married Barbara Senseniq on 17 Sep 1769. Barbara was born in Jan 1749/50. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
