    Nathan Ballard, formerly of Mansfield but more recently of Johnsonburg, Pa., was born in Geneseo, Livingston county, in 1823; he died Oct. 16, 1898, aged seventy-five years, six months, and twelve days.

    When a young man, Mr. Ballard came to Otto, this county, He married Amanda, daughter of Benjamin Ballard of Otto. Later he took up a farm in Mansfield, where he spent the greater part of his life. To Mr. Ballard and wife, eight children were born, seven of whom are now living. Mrs. Ballard died March 12, 1886.

    In 1896, Mr. Ballard went to live with his son-in-law, D. W. Flynn of Johnsonburg, Pa., where he remained until the time of his death.

    Nathan married Amanda Ballard about 1844. Amanda (daughter of Benjamin Ballard and Lillis Ballard) was born on 17 May 1824 in Otto, Cattaraugus County, New York; died on 7 Mar 1886; was buried in Old Ballard Cemetery, North Otto, Cattaraugus County, New York. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
