    WATSON, Eva Ada - Peacefully, at Wellington Terrace, Elora, on Thursday, May 11, 2000, in her 95th year. Beloved wife of the late James B. Watson (1985) and dearly loved mother of Helen and husband Jim Crane of Fergus and Karl Watson and wife June of Arthur; mother-in-law of Eleanor Watson. She was predeceased by her son, Bill in 1996. Loving grandmother of Marion and friend Rick, Neil, Andy and wife Debbie Crane, Brian and wife Helena, Glen and wife Elizabeth, Bill Watson and wife Barbara, Marilyn and husband Bert Morgan, Carol and husband Tom Eagan. Predeceased by granddaughter, Anne (1958) and by brothers, Wallace, Lynn and Bill Carlaw. Mrs. Watson is also survived by her several loving great-grandchildren and by her sister, Orvilla Armstrong and brother, James Carlaw. Mrs. Watson was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Fergus. The family will receive friends at The Thomson-Jeffrey Funeral Home 160 St. David St. N. (No. 6 Hwy.) Fergus on Sunday from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service on Monday, May 15, 2000 at 11 a.m. from The Jeffrey Family Chapel, The Rev. Murray Laurenson of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment in Belsyde Cemetery. The family would appreciate donations to Wellington Terrace or Hospice Wellington in lieu of flowers.     On returning home from Listowel, Mr. and Mrs. Tuckey noticed a fire at the farm house of Mr. Walter Carlaw on the Salem-Elmira road. Neighbours from around, quickly congregated, some from Elora, and succeeded in moving all the furniture from the house even the doors and windows being saved. The house itself was gutted but the flames did not spread to any of the other buildings. Fire started on the roof from sparks from the chimney.

    Walter married Ada Bailey on 11 Mar 1903. Ada (daughter of Alfred Bailey and Martha Ferrier) was born on 10 Mar 1881 in West Garafraxa Township, Ontario; died on 18 Dec 1921 in Lot 8, Conc 1, West Luther Township, Wellington County, Ontario; was buried in Buried at Greenfield Cemetery in Arthur, Ontario but is noted on tombstone of husband in Elora, Ontario.
