    • IN MEMORIUM

      Claud Lorenzo Ballard was born in Dodge County, Minnesota, on September 21, 1893. He married Cecil King on November 8, 1916. They moved to Canada in 1918 to the district of Spalding, Saskatchewan where he farmed until their move to town in 1929, at which time he took on the operation of the dray and livery service. He was later employed by the village until his retirement. Mr. Ballard remained at his home in Spalding until his move to Bethany Pioneer Village at Middle Lake in January of this year. He died on April 17, 1976 after a short illness.

      Mr. Ballard is survived by his wife, Cecil, of Bethany Pioneer Village at Middle Lake, and by two sons and six daughters.....

      Also surviving him are 18 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; a brother, Wilbur, of Castlegar, B.C.; and a sister, Edna Hutchison of Spalding, Sask.; as well as numerous other relatives and many friends.

      Her was pre-deceased by a brother, Floyd; an infant brother, Lester; and a sister, Ella Wright.
