      Shirley Burant

      January 11, 1930 - February 15, 2019
Shirley passed away peacefully on February 15, 2019 at the age of 89 and is now in the loving presence of her Lord and Saviour.

Shirley was born January 11, 1930 in Spalding, Saskatchewan to Clyde and Annie King (Mealue), and was the second oldest of 4 daughters.

She left Spalding in 1947 for Vancouver, and shortly after moved to Chilliwack and married Len Vetterl in June, 1948. They raised 4 children before he passed in 1971 from cancer. Shirley and Lorne were married January 11, 1979 and enjoyed several trips across Canada, her favourite place to visit being Newfoundland.

Shirley contributed her time in church office duties, and supported many Christian Ministries and standing for the unborn. She was creative and crafty, sewing, knitting, crochet and cross stitch were her favourite past times along with a passion for reading. Her home was an open door for tea with family and friends and she had a lending ear to everyone.

She had a kind, gentle way about her and a humorous kick-up-your-heels side too that made everyone laugh. She loved all types of music, from classical to country, played piano and learned classical guitar in her 50's. She also loved to study the birds that attended her bird feeders and enjoyed time in her yard gardening, the view of Mt. Cheam and spending peaceful, quiet moments in the beauty that surrounded her. But above all, she loved her family more than anything else in the world. Mom, you were loved very much and will be sadly missed.

She is survived by ....., 18 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Pre-deceased by her parents Clyde and Annie King, and her first husband of 23 years Len Vetterl, her sisters Iris LeClerc and Maxine Siemens.

St. Mary's Parish in Chilliwack will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial on February 26, 2019.

For this is the message which you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. 1 John 3:11
