Isaiah Hallman Called by Death Early Tuesday Morning In Memorial Hospital
A highly esteemed resident of Wallace township, Mr. Isaiah Hallman, passed away in the Listowel Memorial Hospital, Wednesday morning, November 27, 1940, in his 73rd year. He was taken to the Memorial hospital on Friday last, but his condition was not thought serious. He had not been in good health for several months.
Mr. Hallman was born on the second concession Wallace, April 6, 1868, and had farmed all his life in Wallace. He was a lifelong member of Calvary Evangelical church, a trustee on the church board for several years, and a regular attendant at the Sunday School.
In December 1894 he was married to Lena Bender, who predeceased him November 5, 1895. In 1902 he was married to Louisa Bender, who survives, with four sons, Herbert, 3rd con, Wallace; Wilfrid, Niagara Falls, N.Y., Alvin, Niagara Falls, Ont.; Earl, at home; and three daughters, Mrs. G. Robbins and Mrs. Irvin Kirk, Niagara Falls, Ont.; and Miss Dorothy Hallman, Toronto. There are also four grandchildren, two brothers Menno and Ephriam Hallman, Vancouver, and two sisters, Mrs. John Liesemer, Didsbury, Alta., and Mrs. George Dippel, Kitchener.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, November 30, at the family residence, con. 2, Wallace, at 1:30pm, followed by public service in Calvary Evangelical church at 2:30. His pastor, Rev. Clayton Becker, will have charge, and interment will be made in Fairview cemetery.
