Death of Mrs. Charles Schreiber
After a painful illness of over ?? months, Mrs. Charles Schreiber, of the 6th of Egremont, passed away on Saturday morning at the home of Mr. Alex Butchart, Fergus St. Mrs. Schreiber had been ill over two months and was brought to town some weeks ago for treatment. An operation was attempted, but was unsuccessful, and much sympathy was evoked because of the distressing nature of the disease. The late Mrs. Schreiber was born near Conestoga. In childhood she moved with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Wieser to Ayton, and later to Gleneden. She was married 33 years ago to Chas. Schreiber. For a number of years they lived in Normanby and about twenty years ago removed to the 6th of Egremont. Besides her husband she leaves a son Charles at home, and a daughter, Mrs. Gordon Hunnisett, of Toronto, to mourn their great loss. There are left also two brothers, Fred and William Wieser of Normanby; Mrs. Ploethner, Hespeler; Mrs. Robert Hunt and Mrs. Grice Balger in Alberta. Deceased was a member of Westminster Church and a funeral service was conducted there by the Rev. R. J. Sturgeon on Monday afternoon, interment taking place in Mount Forest Cemetery. There was a large attendance of relatives, friends and neighbors, testifying to the respect in which Mrs. Schreiber was held. The pall-bearers were Messrs. Fred and Emil Schreiber, Wm. Wieser, Alex Webster, James McLachlan and John Long. Among those present from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Hunnisett and two children, Toronto, and Mrs. Ploethner, Hespeler.
