Charles Schreiber
The death occurred in hospital in Toronto, on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 1939, of the above former well known resident of this district. He had been a month in the hospital, and underwent two operations.
Mr. Schreiber was born in Normanby in 1856, son of Charles Schreiber and Annie Knoll Schreiber. About 53 years ago, he married Elizabeth Wieser of Normanby, who died May 24, 1919. They lived in Normanby for a time, then for twenty years on the 6th of Egremont. Since his wife's death he had lived in Toronto with his daughter, Mrs. Gordon Hunnisett.
One brother and two sisters are living: Oscar of Ayton; Mrs. Paul Fritsch, Chesley, and Mrs. Richard White in the West; three brothers, Fred, Emil and Henry are deceased.
On Thursday evening a funeral service was held in funeral parlors in Toronto. On Friday, accompanied by his daughter, Mrs. Hunnisett and family, and a niece, Mrs. Clarke, the remains were motored to Mount Forest, where a service was held in the former Westminster Church of which deceased was a member. The Rev. Ian McEown conducted the service. The pall-bearers were Messrs. Chas. Schreiber, son; Gordon, Bruce and Allan Hunnisett, grandsons, Toronto; and Harold Fritsch, nephew, Chesley.
