Notes |
- From the research of Earl Hastings
It was said of George Hastings that he was born to farm. He rejected schooling in favour of working on his father’s farms in the Sintaluta district prior to moving with the family to “the ranch” north of Regina. At sixteen years of age he worked with his father and was left in charge of farm operations during his father’s absence. His sister Margaret would recall “that on trips to Craven with bailed hay, Dad and my brother would walk behind the load to keep warm. George had to put liriment on his face to keep it from freezing”. He died suddenly at home following surgery.
