MAGDALENA BEAVER - 2nd daughter of Peter II
She was born on June 3, 1834 at Morriston and died Aug. 25, 1929 in Crediton. She was a charter member of the Evangelical Church. On Nov. 16, 1852, she married Matthew Morlock, brother of John Christian. He was born Feb. 24, 1828 in Germany and came to Canada in 1831. Died Aug. 27, 1923. They purchased lot 17, concession 7 from the Canada Company on Oct. 22, 1852 for 69 pounds, 9 shillings, 6 pence. Their family consisted of 13 children.
1. Fredericka, born Dec. 27, 1853, married name Caufield
2. Louisa, born July 1, 1855, died 1927, married Peter Fahrner in 1874. They had 13 children.
3. Charlotte, born March 27, 1857, died Sept. 24, 1943. She married Bernhardt Brown., Crediton shoe merchant in 1874. He was born July 3, 1850 and died Nov. 13, 1921. They had 7 children, 5 died in infancy. Lorne went into the ministry. Levina married Harry Switzer - children, Karl, Earl and Ruth.
4. Mary, born May 7, 1859, died 1940. She married Joseph Haist, tile manufacturer, who was born in 1858, died 1926. Their children - Simon, Clara, Martha, Pearl (RN), Esther and Ruth. Ruth is now a widow living in Exeter.
5. Lydia, born Aug 3, 1860, died July 26, 1952. She married Samuel Switzer in 1881. He was born Sept. 22, 1857 and died Sept. 26, 1911. They had 8 children.

3. Mary Anne, born Mar. 5, 1885, died 1885
4. William Henry, born Jan. 3, 1887, married twice, lives at Grand Bend.
5. Matthew Christian, born Aug. 28, 1888, died June 20, 1963. He married Laura Ratz who died Jan. 28, 1963.
6. Martha Matilda, born Feb. 7, 1890. She married a Mr. Smith, is now a widow living in Exeter. They had one son who lives in Chicago.
7. Ida E., born Sept. 12, 1891, died Sept. 24, 1968. She married David Lippert and had 7 children.
8. Victoria M., born May 24, 1895, died in infancy.
6. Ellen, born Sept 20, 1862, died March 29, 1959. She married Jacob H. Holtzmann who was born in Wilmot Township in 1866 and died in 1929. They were married on June 12, 1886. Mr. Holtzmann was a tailor in Crediton and they were both active in the Evangelical Church where he was Sunday School Superintendent for many years and Ellen taught a primary class. They had 6 children.
1. Olivia married Rev. M. Whiting. They were United Church missionaries in Japan and had 3 children, Dr. Harvey, Dr. Lloyd and Florence.
2. Pearl (RN), of Cleveland. She was unmarried and after her father died, her mother moved to Cleveland to live with her. She died shortly after her mother.
3. Arthur, of Chicago. He may still be living.
4. Dewitt Harvey died years ago.
5. Vera (RN), of Florida. She and her husband lived many years in Cleveland.
6. Lauretta (RN), married and moved to CA, died a number of years ago.
7. Rev. Matthew C., born Jan. 14, 1865, died in 1935, married Bertha Koeller, one son, Arthur and two daughters, Ada and Melva. At age 28 he went to Naperville College and later entered the ministry in MI.
8. William Henry, born Feb. 4, 1867. He owned the Wrapper Skirt Co. in Chicago.
9. Charles Thomas, born March 5, 1869, bachelor, died as a young man. He worked for his brother William.
10. Martha Matilda, born Feb. 28, 1871, married J. Arthur Whitmore, one son. They lived in Aurora, IL.
11. Joseph Peter, born Feb. 18, 1873, married Henrietta Schultz of Reed City, MI. He is still living in Canon City, Colorado.
12. Simon F., born Nov. 9, 1876, died 1954. He married twice, first to Mary Greb, no children and then to Elizabeth Wolfe with children, Burma and Charles.
13. Emma Magdalena, born April 1, 1879, married Charles W. Taylor, one son, Thomas W., still living in Boulder, Colorado.
