| Rispa Ballard and Royal Green, Albert Baker and Imelda Ballard. Initial interpretation is that the couple on the left are Royal Green and Rispa Ballard. Next man to the right would be Albert Baker. His wife, Imelda Ballard may be the woman standing at far right with woman in chair. Unknown are child seated on ground in front and woman in upstairs window.
I had initially thought that the woman in the chair was likely Matilda Ballard, mother of Imelda and Rispa. However the same woman appears to be on the porch in this photo which, given the ages of Clara and Lurah Baker, would be dated after Matilda's death. |
| Home of Albert Baker and Imelda Ballard In this photo three individuals are labeled - Clara and Lurah Baker and their father.
On the reverse the following is recorded (some punctuation added). Some identity assumptions are suggested in brackets.
Uncle Adam's (Adam Ballard) home in Weyauwega. Pa (Albert Baker) was a working his farm that year it was a homestead by Grandpa and Grandma Ballard (Stephen and Matilda Ballard) given to him by them which they lived on till retiring this new house they built. Old house was a log shanty. |
