- Norman was recruited to the Canadian military in Oshawa, Ontario on 8 Jan 1918 and served during WWI. Following the war, he moved to Detroit where Wurm relatives resided. In Detroit Norman was employed first rigging skyscrapers and later working for Chrysler.
