Dorothy Kirsch
Mrs. Dorothy Elizabeth Kirsch, 81, of Parisville, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 21, 2003, at Huron Medical Center of Bad Axe. Dorothy was born July 5, 1921 in Delaware Township to the late John and Rebecca (Wurm) Reiche. She married Clarence Carl Kirsch on April 20, 1940 in Carsonville. He preceded her in death on Nov. 3, 1975. Dorothy was an eighth grade graduate of the Linwood Country School. She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She and her husband raised a family and farmed in Ruth all their married life until his death in 1975. She resided in Parisville for the last 16 years. She also worked for Dotts Manufacturing of Deckerville for 11 years. She was a member of 4-H, where she got her motto "Rip & Sew". She followed her mother's footsteps and created many beautiful quilts. She also enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, and word searches. Gardening was something she looked forward to each spring. She especially enjoyed tending to her flowers. She was especially proud of her family and enjoyed visiting with them. She always looked forward to family reunions and Christmas gatherings. Dorothy is survived by [.....]. Dorothy was preceded in death by one daughter, Bonnie Sue Kirsch; one grandson, Terrance Kirsch; two infant grandchildren, Baby John Geiger and Joseph Lee Kirsch; one brother-in-law, Deward Weber. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2003, at the Smigielski Funeral Home on Cass Avenue in Minden City. The Rev. Robert A. Srock, pastor of Jeddo United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the East Delaware Township Cemetery of Forestville. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 9:30 p.m. today and from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
