- Warren Hastings was a pioneering neurosurgeon. He was the 300th Board Certified Neurosurgeon in the United States and the first person in the States to take the field of neurosurgery outside of a major medical center. He practiced in Fort Wayne, Indiana from 1948-1980. He served in W.W.II as a physician. He was educated at Oberlin College, Case Western Reserve School of Medicine and the University of Michigan School of Medicine. He spent his childhood in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. He was a shy but principled man who loved classical music, traveling and German poetry.
