| Baptism record of Kjerstine Petersdotter Kjerstine Petersdotter was born on the Gulliksrud farm in Gran parish, Oppland county, Norway. On the left side of the page at the top, entry #118 it states: Born July 29, 1839 and baptised August 11, 1839, in Gran parish, Kjerstine Petersdotter, was a legitimate child born to Peter Gulbrandsson Gulliksrud and Sigrid (Karlsdotter) Hallvardsdotter. ["Karlsdotter" is in brackets here, and we believe that Sigrid`s father was Hallvard Karlsson, which is maybe where the name Karl came from. Further investigation will reveal more details.]
|
| Vaccination record of Kristine Petersdotter It appears Peter Gulbrandsson and Sigrid Hallvardsdotter had moved off the Gulliksrud farm. First mention of another farm is listed here in 1850 for the vaccination record of Kristine Petersdotter. On the right hand side of the page, entry #38 states:
"Vaccination date" October 6, 1850 "person vaccinated" was Kristine Petersdotter, age 11 years, "her father" is Peter Gulbrandsson, and her residence at the time was on the farm Kleven, in Gran parish, Oppland County, Norway.
|
| Record of Kjerstine Petersdotter moving from Velta to Sørum parish It appears that the family lived on Velta until about 1860 when Olaf Peterson moved to Sørum parish that year, and Kristine Petersdotter also moved to Sørum parish that same year. On the right hand side of the page under the year 1860, entry #19 states:
"Reported Date of Departure" April 4, 1860, Kjerstine Petersdotter Velta, born on Gulliksrud, "date of birth" July, 29, 1839, "To What Place Moving to" Sørum parish.

| 1865 census - Family of Christine Pedersdotter and Ole Christiansson Christine Pedersdotter and Ole Christiansson are found in the 1865 census for Christiania (Oslo), Norway. They were living on Nordby street in Grønland parish with their two daughters. The family is displayed as entry #s 38689 to #38692. Christine is listed as his wife and Ole was a "tomtearbeidar" (worker at building sites). Ole was born in the Toten district, Oppland county and Kristine was born in the Hadeland district, Oppland county, and both girls were born in Christiania (Oslo), Norway.

| Passengers aboard the ship Victoria in 1868 The family of Ole Pederson and the family of Kristine Pedersdatter are listed as passengers aboard the Victoria.
They left the city of Christiania (the name for Oslo, Norway at that time) on April 29, 1868 on the bark "Victoria" and arrived in Quebec on July 16, 1868. The family of Ole Pederson and Karen Nilsdotter are entry #s 164, 165, 166, and 167. Their residence was listed as Kristiania(Oslo)/Sørum. The parish of Sørum is just north of Oslo, so it is understandable they named both areas.
Also note the four names above Ole Pederson. They are also from Kristiania/Sørum. Further investigation reveals that this family is the brother-in-law and sister of Ole Pederson.

See also http://www.norwayheritage.com/articles/templates/voyages.asp?articleid=82&zoneid=6 which features a short story told by Guri Thorsdatter Trøo Jeglum about the crossing on the Victoria from Drammen to Quebec seven years prior to our ancestors' voyage on the same vessel.

| Marriage record of Kristine Petersdotter and Ole Kristiansson The wedding record for Kristine Petersdotter and Ole Kristiansson indicates that they were married in the Grønland parish church, in the city of Oslo (Christiania) on November 10, 1861. On the left side of the page, entry #32 states:
November 10, 1861 married were "ungkar" (bachelor) and " konstabel" (policeman) Ole Kristiansson and "pike" (maiden/never married) Kristine Petersdotter of Smalgangen (This likely refers to Smalgangen street in Oslo, Norway.) Ole was born in Østre Toten parish, in Oppland county and his place of residence was in the Vaterland district, in Oslo (the same area as Smalgangen). Kristine was born in Gran parish, Oppland county. The groom's age is listed as 36 years and the bride`s age is listed as 22 years.
The groom's father is Kristian Petersson. The bride's father is Peter Gulbrandsson.
The best men (sponsors) were Andreas Olson and Engebret Evensson.
The dates of public announcements were on October 20, 27 and November 3, 1861 and the groom requested these public announcements.
Both bride and groom have been vaccinated for smallpox.
