Raymond O. Wurm
Raymond O. "Ray" Wurm, age 91, died April 23, 2010, in Cookeville, Tenn. He was born March 18, 1919, in Detroit, Mich. Mr. Wurm worked for many years as a space allocations officer with the U.S. Government, earning him full military honors at his funeral service in Tennessee held Monday, April 26. He was a heavily involved, longtime member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Eastpointe. He was also a member of L.F.A. 57, Kiwanis Club, and past commander of American Legion Detroit Lutheran Post 552 and NARFE. He is survived by his children, [...]; 10 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and dear friend, [...]. He is predeceased by his parents, Lillian (nee deBeauclair) and William Wurm; his wives, Ruth (nee Driskell) Wurm and Alma Wurm; two grandsons and four sisters. Memorial donations may be made to Carl F. Gerds, Jr. Seminarian Student Assistance Fund, L.F.A. 57 Scholarship Fund (elementary, high school or college), GBU/LFA Scholarship Fund or charity of choice. A graveside service is scheduled Thursday, 1:30 p.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery, Eastpointe. Arrangements by Buehler Funeral Home.
