The death occurred of an old resident in the person of James Holman in the township of Elma, Perth County, one mile north of Monkton on Monday April 14th 1924, after only four weeks of sickness.
Mr. Holman was born near Elora in the county of Wellington, 72 years, six months ago. He came with his parents to Elma Township when he was five years of age and settled on lot 12 concession 17 Elma, where they remained for a number of years. Later marrying Marion Golightly of the same locality, commencing their young married life on lot 16 and 17 Con. 17 Elma, up to 21 years ago after selling there, they then bought 150 acres just north, where they farmed up to the time of his death.
