Knut`s birthplace was on Båsheim in Sigdal parish and his birth year was 1847. Karoline`s birth place was on Holo in Modum parish and her birth year was 1850. Knut`s father`s name was Petter Gulbrandsson Båsheim. Karoline`s father`s name was "gardmann" (farmer) Tore Olson. The bestmen (sponsors) were Lars Gunnarsson Bjørndalen and Nils Larsson Bjørndalen. The dates of public announcement for their wedding were on September 23 & 30 and October 7, 1877.
